Fran is a founding officer of Standards Plus and has been President and CEO for more than ten years. Before joining Standard Plus, she was a public educator for 35 years. Prior to her presidency with Standards Plus she served as the Assistant Superintendent for Educational Services in a large, diverse, urban school district. During that time she coordinated the efforts to make substantial changes in the district which led to the district receiving an Ed. Trust Award. To fulfill the mission of this nonprofit organization, Fran continues to put the organization’s resources toward activities that support increased student achievement throughout the country.
Joe was a public educator for 25 years. He was a classroom teacher for 12 years, a site administrator for 6 years and a district office administrator for 7 years. Previous to his current position as Chief Business Officer, Dr. Deem was the Director of Interim Assessment for Educational Testing Service. Joe has developed formative and summative assessments aligned to standards in many districts and states as well as leading a team in the development and writing of Common Core Standards lessons to meet the new rigor and performance requirements of the CCSS.
Prior to joining Standards Plus, Angela Turner worked in public education for eleven years. While working at the middle school level, she assisted with the development and monitoring of after school intervention and English Language Learner support programs. She was a pivotal team member during the site’s Comité evaluations.
Since joining Standards Plus in 2004, she has led the creation of the Client Solutions Division which includes our Client Solutions Representatives, Account Managers, Warehouse, and Shipping Departments.
Susan has held several different public education positions in the last 26 years. She has been an elementary classroom teacher, reading specialist, assistant principal, and an assistant director in a large urban school district overseeing a Comprehensive School Reform Model for 36 schools K-12. In that role, Susan ensured the delivery, training, and consistent implementation of ELA and Math supplemental lessons. She worked with school leadership teams, teacher groups, and district administrators to coordinate professional development, classroom coaching support, and site monitoring and data management to ensure success.
Susan’s dynamic presence and leadership led to her current position as Senior Director, Standards Plus. Standards Plus is a nonprofit company that provides supplemental instructional materials and professional development to assist schools in meeting the rigorous expectations of the Common Core Standards.
JoJean has served public education for 26 years as a teacher, Categorical Program Specialist, Literacy/Reading First coach, coordinator of elementary curriculum and instruction, assistant principal, and professional development designer and trainer. Throughout JoJean’s tenure in the public schools she designed standards-based instructional materials and curriculum guides, standards-based report cards and grade standardization documents, English Language Development curricular correlations, and professional development to support principals and teachers. JoJean is currently the Senior Director for Curriculum and Instruction with Standards Plus, overseeing the development and implementation of materials written directly to the Common Core Standards.
